hi herbie. yoiu guessed it....welcome!!!
take a look thru some of the threads in the sea-fishing section of this forum because you will notice a lot of hints are already here! one point to remember when buying the rod and reel.....your local tackle shop 'should' help you and advice you accordingly on your choice but dont be conned into spending hundreds for your first setup. Whilst a twenty quid outfit will probably fall apart first time you should be able to get a rod and reel for say fifty - sixty quid which will do the job and not break the bank!

I'll be going to that game, it's on my Birthday, so a nice pressie from the misses, I seriously doubt it will be a cricket score, as of this minute we are drawing 1-1 with bottom of the CC league 2 Notts County in the Carling Cup

Thanks, will do, only problem is I have no idea where any tackle shops are down there yet, except apparently there's a small one on the Marina, selling minimal equipment and bait & lures.

I'll look into it.

maybe worth going to eastbourne to tony's tackle as if i remember right he does some good stuff!! i aint been there for a while but i brought a couple of rods and a lantern years back and there still in good nic for the price i paid!! not sure what the shops like at the marina but i heard its not bad!!
