| fellowzedhead . Hi chaps , found this forum whilst scanning the web for zed sites. Been fishing the fens on and off since early 90s . (due to the addition of 2 girls to my family ) my time has been limited. Planning on spending the winter nights on the banks of the drains in search of a few zeds . fished the previous three trips. The colour had dropped out of the water a fair amount since the last trip but it still looked inviting . I was installed with baits out n brew on with a good hour of light left. confident of a take at dusk i stood by the rods watching the light fade with the onset of darkness . An hour later and all remained quiet so i retired to the comfort of my chair and set about making a fresh brew . Another hour passed before the alarm sounded the first take . The dead rudd on the far bank was away .The strike was made , fish on (nice) as it came to the margins another alarm sounded . Thinking the fish had picked up the other line i ignored it and played the zed into the net. I left it in the net and checked the other rod ,great fish on although not what i was after. the culprit being a jack pike of about a pound. I delt with that then the zed was quickly unhooked . A zed of 8 llb. after a good start i was confident of more action .Alas it was not to be as the rest of the night passed with no more action. I hope to get back down fens for a couple of nights at the end of this week . tight lines n all the best Bod |
