Re: Bought a boat going fishing on the Tamar

Hi Mike, ive fished all my life, mainly course and charter sea fishing so as you know the charter skipper takes you to the best spots and advices you on prefered tackle etc.Now im on my own as such im lost.
The boat has sat nav and fish finder, but its a question of getting started and learning from there, its the getting started im not sure about.
Best Wishes Michael

Welcome to the Forum Michael. I'm sure some of the Boat owners on the Forum will be able to help you. I should imagine that a good starting point would be to join a local small boat owners fishing club. I'm sure there must be one in the Plymouth area. Good luck.

Re: Bought a boat going fishing on the Tamar

Hi Marazon Midge, thanks for the reply,im a ex Newquay boy and remember the great fishing up there 40/50 years ago.fishing the gannel for flatties produced a fish every cast (different now i suppose?). There is a spot down here where the old ARK ROYAL was moored awaiting breaking i will try it later on today as im told it used to produce a good bag of fish i will post if its any good Best Wishes Michael

Re: Bought a boat going fishing on the Tamar

Spent a long time in Northern Ireland working for Ford motor co, been blown up 3 times twice in a hotel once in a car showroom and shot at once, mind you on my days off i used to fish the river Bann for Roach and catch the train from Belfast to Dublin for Women and Drink (great city).I think I'll stay in Cornwall its safer.
