Hello Green heart I have not tried Taly Bont or Usk Reservoir cos the size of it has always daunted me and put me off.

Taly Bont is a fantastic place mate. Wild Trout only. Look for the old stone wall that go's into the water on the road side & slowly fish a team of size
12 / 14 Daiwl Bachs on a floating line at last light & on into darkness. The Brownies there are lean mean fighting machines.

Welcome stalker,
If you get a chance, try the river Vyrnwy (near Llanymynech/Oswestry)
Excellent all round fishing - Grayling,trout,chub,barbel,pike,roach and of course Salmon !
