| New member just saying hello Hi to everyone, Iam new to this forum and new to sea fishing. Done a bit course fishing with tiny little hooks and little maggots but sea fishing is a whole new thing for me, big hooks and big rag worm hopefully big fish LOL . I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on locations in Amble as thats where we have just got a caravan. Tried the harbour last week and got a couple of dabs but any advice about Amble would be good. Finally I have just got some beachcasting gear sorted and would like to know if there is any lessons in Amble about casting etc? Hope to read some good advice soon or maybe chat one day when fishing.Cheers KKell69 Last edited by kkell69; 06-22-2006 at 09:58 PM. Reason: spelling! |

| Re: New member just saying hello hello kkell weolcome to the wonderful world of north east fishing, amble has a good reputation for having some decent fish during all weather, theres nowt much to be had from the end of the pier during the summer season apart from the old fave mackeral and flounder, could also be a possibility to hook into the odd sea trout. best places around there would be the rocks to the left hand side of the beach as you come out of the caravan park next to the granary pub, im sure you know where that is.fish here during clam spells you dont really need to chuck it far out as its fairly deep water close in and very kelpy. than as you move south you will come onto the beach (obviously) if you carry on walking south along the beach you will come to a line of rocks at low tide this is called the silver carrs some superb fishing can be had around there during or after a decent northerly, but be careful if you do venture out onto the skeers as they do go out for miles, well it seems like that when your trying to get off, best baits to be used on the rock edges would be fresh peeler crab and mussel, and i personally think the best baits to use along the beach along there would be yellowtail lug. stay safe and take a mobile with you at all times mate , as there is some really dodgy places along there that you can get cut off on.if you do need any more help with locations etc and how to find the marks along there , send a pm and i will try and sort a few maps of the local marks along there, i also know a few lads who do casting lessons as well so again send a pm and will try and arrange something for to help you out. cheers pete |
