Help needed

Moved to Hornsea, and having been coarse fishing for years on and off, I would like to start beach fishing but don't have a clue on what sort of tackle to buy or any idea of rigs etc. I would really appreciate help and if you are in Hornsea I'll even buy you a beer

thanks

Re: Help needed

Hi HornseaFish (Horny?????? )

I've only been fishing since the autumn so I know exactly the daunting prospect it is looking at all the tackle on offer and trying to make a decision. Before anyone can really point you in the right direction, (And there are some absoulate fishing machines on this forum, who'll happily give you some good suggestions) they'll probably need to know a bit more about :-

* What kind of fishing would you like to have a go at?
* Where are you most likely to do most of your fishing?
* What kit have you already got/ are able to beg/steal/borrow.
* What sort of price range are you able to spend?

When I first started, I was bought a very cheap mustang rod/reel combo (Think it cost about £30) that I used for a while until I was sure fishing was something I could get interested in. I think that was the best advise I got actually, don't spend too much to start with. Then when you've got that bit more knowledge, you can upgrade and still use the cheaper stuff as a second rod/reel whatever.

Either way, you've done the hardest bit already. In finding this forum you've got some extreemly good fishermen (I hope to be one too someday.... ) on hand to give you good impartial advice whenever you need.

Oh and welcome BTW.

Rich.
