i was out at the weekend caught a small codling there was a ten pound one caught off roker pier on thursday

...also a fish just shy of 11lb. from the cormorants on Thursday...although there is a sign up saying strictly no fishing allowed!!!!

At the walkway in the Tyne at shields, fish between 5 and 7lb have been landed, and shields pier fished well yesterday after that spell of northerlies we had...
Codlings were showing at Ryhope Dene although only around the 2 to 3lb bracket....and I've just had a walk along Seaham Hall Beach tonight with the dog, and there were some monster whiting being caught, really big ones, seen one that went 1lb. 15oz on the scales! and all the others were all knocking on that too....just goes to show what a stir up can do for the fishing..
