What's happening in the North East?

Are you all very busy catching fish or has it all gone dead? Nothing has been posted here since June? Have you had any good fishing since then? Where have you been and what have you caught?
I have just been to Sweden and caught some Zander.

Re: What's happening in the North East?

Hi Bjorn,
Just thought I'd take this opportunity to say hello, as I've only recently joined this site. Also to let you know, that your not the only one up here in NE. Just started fishing and I'm already hooked, pardon the pun, after fishing twice. Both times from Blyth pier. My oldest lad came with me the first time and was the only one to catch anything, a small codling and has never let me forget it since. The next time I went with a more experienced mate and managed to catch a small codling myself. Hoping to do a bit of beach fishing in the near future. Well happy fishing to you and the rest of N/E lads and hope to speak to you soon, Hopefully with a more successful fishing day story

ANDY A

Re: What's happening in the North East?

yeah theres a load of whiteys around at the moment-mainly small-3/4llb/1lb but keeps the rod noddin.with any luck the dark nights and the recent drop in temp should start the codlin movin inshore soon.weve been getting them up to 4lb from the boat over rough ground with a few decent pollock thrown in-mainly fishing further north though-next to berwick ive heard reports of small codlin from the piers but nothing worth freezin ya nuts of for-still one or two decent fish coming from the kelp areas if you can handle the snags-hope this helps y'all tight lines chaps

see what tonight brings ( friday 14th oct) let you now if nay thing pop`s up

Love to look at the NE reports, I'm originally from Blackhall so I get all misty-eyed when I hear of fish being caught up there. Horden always fished well when I was a kid, caught lots of cod there, sadly I've not fished there since 1989
