Re: Fishing pals and advice Thanks mate was looking for fishing spots on the northern side of the water but may pop over to Jarrow to see how the fishing goes. Did a couple of hours at the North Shields side and my boy and I caught 4 mackerel of decent size. Nobody else was catching.

Re: Fishing pals and advice well i make my own rigs im practically new to this, and i use rag mate thats it but loads of people catch but not many people know about it. loads of work getting done down there but you can still fish there. you go to the pedestrian tunnel and walk through it little free car park there so its alright, then take the lift up when you get to the other side then when you get out the lift there is a big metal gate that looks like it should be on a farm go through that and follow the cobbles down 2 sec walk and you will see a red fence any tide fishing i have always caught dont tell too many people about it though lol.

Re: Fishing pals and advice Im new to the seafishing lark myself mate normally use flattie rigs and mackerel trace or a sea float with mackerel trace on it. Ideal for when they are up in the water chasing small fry. Im thinking of taking my boy down on saturday how do I get to the pedestrian crossing? I will be travelling up from Forest Hall so will park up and head off down. If you fancied a trip out to share some tips etc let me know. Regards Lee

Re: Fishing pals and advice probably be easier to come down station road from the mega bowl is mate if its still there all the way down to the lights just past wallsend metro......turn left follow road all the way along till you get to a small tower building on the left thats where the old tunnel was just past willington quay garage.....theres a sign post that says pedestrian and cycle tunnel and points to the right.....and your there.....takes 5 mins to walk through it might pop through for a bit i have my son at weekends
