Kingsbridge & Dartmouth

Well, on my recent trip to Devon I took my daughter crabbing in Dartmouth using bacon as bait. We didn't bag up on the crabs as we normally do but there were dozens of small thick lipped mullet to about 1lb which kept taking the bait which considering the thickness of line etc. surprised me with their reputation as shy fish. I even had one half out the water but, as I'd been unable to strike with a crab line, it wasn't hooked properly and dropped back in. A few days later I was in Kingsbridge and looked at the creek near the main car park which only had about a foot or two of water as the tide had just started to come in. It was teaming with mullet with their fins above the surface (some school bass too!), I didn't have a rod with me and didn't get the chance to return but hopefully they will still be there when I return in a couple of weeks. They weren't big fish but will be my first mullet and 1.5 points for the species hunt.
