Mullet In Teignmouth

Im very keen and eager to get my mullet gear out and to catch a 5lber.

the only problem is i havent seen any around the river nor around the coast. Is anybody fishing for mullet yet?? Or has anyone seen any mullet about?

This time last year i had already caught several and im getting depressed looking down into the depths not seein any dark fish gliding about

Re: Mullet In Teignmouth

Luke,
There are loads in Torquay harbour/marina. Posted the other day about them, but DevonDave (who is the expert in this field) reckons they won't be feeding whilst they are showing on the surface like that. The other downer is the problem fishing in the harbour at Torquay, but that's another matter.

Cheers, Darren

Re: Mullet In Teignmouth

I saw hundreds of them this morning just before high tide from the train all the way from Newtown Abbot to Teignmouth.
Don't know how you'd catch them though in that shallow water...

Re: Mullet In Teignmouth

Thanks for the info, i have started to see the mullet shoaling over the last few days, but at the moment there is a great big seal in the river, and every time i see it, it has a bloody great fish of some specie in its mouth.
