| Hi Fellas, I thought i'd let you all know I've just joined the National Mullet Club and there is a lot of benefit to supporting it. I got a lovely booklet with some fantastic articles to read and they have "fish Ins" around the country. I just missed the one on the Gower sh*t but hey there's always next year. Can't wait to go Golden Mullett fishing ![]() __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. | Re: The National Mullet Club Hi everyone just found this site and its great its got its own mullet section. Hi Paul you kept this one quiet then? Wondered where you had been hiding away? I am a very keen mullet angler who mostly fishes Weymouth Harbour which always seems to produce good mullet up to 7lb. I am desperate to try and beat the club record which stands at 7lb 2oz and has done since 1942. I am hoping to go to Alderney next year and I am in contact with a guy who goes over there regularly from Dorchester where I live. He says the fishing really gets going over there in February when the really big mullet come in. He also suggests that I bait up Weymouth harbour this time of year as all the small fish would have gone but the real clonkers will still be about? Funny cos I always considered them a summer fish. Apart from Alderney I have never heard of anyone fishing for them in the winter. Does anyone else do it and with any success? |

Re: The National Mullet Club if it helps i was out fishing the other night and saw tons of mullet... i know im slighty down coast from u... torbay... but there is still plenty of mullet to be had here although the snow yesterday may have taken the edge off the temp and drove them out to deeper water __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: The National Mullet Club Has anyone caught a Golden Grey Mullet this year ?? Few years back, Shoreham in Sussex was rated as the best place to catch these fish and they were around in huge numbers - these days its very rare to even see one. Just woundering if they've been wiped out or have relocated to other venues instead ?? ![]()

Re: The National Mullet Club loads of golden greys in Weymouth Harbour biggest I have had is about 1lb can tell them in the water from the other thicks as well! I am not a fond lover as they tend to be very slimey and look a bit like a thin-lip in the head! Had about 7 goldens this year.

Re: The National Mullet Club On our local pier (about 5 years ago) you could watch the mullet swim in with the tide in the shallow water. You could see about a dozen shoals each with about 20 plus fish in them. This year i've seen about 6 Golden Grey Mullet in total !!!!
