| first mullet today ! yay! hi im new to the forum it was recommended to me by a chap on milford beach last week im fed up with the lack of any fish on the beaches at the mo so today i went to Lymington at Salterns Marina and after 4 hours of nothing i got my first ever mullet it was a thick at 4 pounds and took it on a modded fly rod, (i gave it a butt ext) my god it was like a steam train! im wondering why i haven't targeted them before im hooked for sure, a bit late in the year for them, im guessing they will be gone this mth? going again tomorrow it was good to have a fish that i had to set the drag for ! any way hi and great forum ODB     |

| Re: first mullet today ! yay! I HATE MULLET!!! They drive me NUTS! I've lost count of the hours I've spent watching the blighters take every bit of bread but oh not not the one with the flaming hook in it. No that would be far too nice. Joking apart, if I could only fish for one fish from now on it would be the roach. However, if we are talking sea fish then the mullet would be my number one. If I lived near the sea like some lucky b@ggers down Hampshire way do :) I'd be after them all the time. Congratulations on catching your first, I hope it is nowhere near your last . | Re: first mullet today ! yay! thanks for the warm welcome guys i think ive not targeted them before cos of being put off by the reports of how hard they are to catch , it helped big time getting one on my first try , i think im off to try again today while we still have some sun tightlines guys |
