Exclamation mullet about!

i have been informed from a reliable source that mullet are starting to show in the hamble river! lets hope the numbers increase soon and some big ones are about this year. can't wait to get out and spend some frustrating hours after them! tight lines.
matt.

Re: mullet about!

In my experience, they dont seem to feed for the first few weeks that they come back into the rivers and harbours. would love to hear other peoples thoughts on that one.

Re: mullet about!

no i agree, its not normally till about end of april/may that i have managed to get them properly on the feed and catch 1, although i do tend to feed my swims up for a few weeks prior to that.

Re: mullet about!

Problem i have is that they all feed around a water outlett. It washes the bread into a little still water area and then slowly pushes it out into the main river, it don`t have time to collect up and make the mullets interested. Can i try floating some maddies instead, would that catch a mullet?
