I took a mate fishing for Mullet yesterday. I had my first of the year, a 3lb 12oz Thick Lipped, and shortly afterwards lost an even bigger one!!

YAY its mr mullet
but dont you guys catch them all year round in the channel isles? i know some of the mullet boys around here go to alderney in january too catch big mullet, ive seen pictures of the plane they fly on too get there and all i can say is i aint indiana jones!!!!!! well done and keep em coming

Shucks, thanks Guys!

I'm off again in half an hour for another session....the winds picked up a bit since Saturday, but worth a shot I reckon.

Alderney tends to have them all year round - something to do with the depth of water around the island I think. You right about the plane though - I have to catch the same one when I go to Guernsey for work.....not top bad in the summer....bloody hair raising on a windy winters day!

Fishing for them here dies off around the first week of December, and they reaappear in March and begin feeding again once the sea temp gets up around the 10.4 degree mark. Fishing can often be patchy in the first couple of months....Guess I've just been lucky with my first outtings over the past couple of years - had 3 1/2lb+ fish on both trips!

whats it like mulletin in guernsy?

goin in july and will be mulletin when i get it from the boat in the harbour

Not sure what the mulleting in Guernsey will be like - presumably quite good.

I'd check with the harbour office on the rules for fishing in the harbour & marina areas, as locally ALL fishing is banned in ANY of the marinas.......
