| Shore newbie mullet help in Torbay. Hi. I used to have a small dinghy in Brixham Breakwater and a couple of times hit a couple of mullet under the assistance of a guru from Brixham initials AT from Brixham if you know him. Anyhoo, thinking of having a go from shore for them in earnest but not entirly sure I have my facts straight, please feel free to comment on the below. 1. 10 line straight through waggle float with split shot, small hook. Using Shimano exage rod and reel, gotta landing net. 2. ground bait non stop with bread/mackerel mushed up. 3. fish a couple of inches off the bottom with mackerel flesh or sprat. 4. low water better than high. 5 Venues Brixham breakwater by paint rafts or the Dart - I realise I am not going to get a mark, and would not dare ask, a yes or no will suffice I'll try and work it out from there. 6. be very patient!! That's what I think I require/need to do. Questions. 1. is there a better time to fish? daylight, early, late, sunny, cloudy? 2. Mullet spinning - no idea what or how to do this any clues. Thanks in advance BD __________________ There is a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot. |

| Re: Shore newbie mullet help in Torbay. I have seen people catch mullet with bread baited hook after ground baiting with bread. Brixham harbour is said to be good for mullet by people who have caught, but no personal experience. Mullet come all the way up the Dart to Totnes weir in summer, but haven't seen any for a month. Not much help, I'm afraid. |
