I've fished in Malta, where there's loadsa mullet, black bream, gilthead bream, lampuka (dolphin fish), and some barracuda been spotted in some areas! absolutely loads of bass around the pound mark, but the locals catch and eat ANYTHING!!!

yeah,

mullet, bream, lampuka, groupa (from the boat),

I took peeler crab over there and it totally outfished the locals bait!!

Didn't tell the airline I was taking them, and had them as hand luggage with me in a cooler bag!!

Re: Mullet abroad

Got driven nuts by the mullett in Cala'n Bosch (Menorca) couple of years ago.

The harbour is surrounded by bars etc. and seems to be fishing everywhere (well no one told me to move).

The Ryder cup was on and we were stuffing the Yanks so it was a great atmosphere as (for a change) it was Spanish, British and Germans all cheering together.

Did catch some really small ones but what the hell they was swimming and had vertical tail fins.

Took a fly fishing net and a Ron Thomson telescopic rod with a Shimano ZX reel. Few fish but great fun and I wasn't programming a bleedin' comuter at the time. Heaven.
