Another mullet on the fly

Went down harbour yesterday afternoon for an hours fly fishing for the mullet, very few fish were showing, but after a couple of missed takes and on "last" cast i threw the full 30 odd yards of line out,20 seconds later and a big boil at the fly the line slid away and i was into a solid fish,10 minutes later after a lovely line ripping fight i beached this beauty,i'd estimate it at around the 3lb mark and what a stocky fish as can be seen.

Re: Another mullet on the fly

May I ask what sort of fly you were using and how you were fishing it - I've had a few tries at catching them with flies without success so far.

Re: Another mullet on the fly

That's one fat mullet and must have been excellent sport on a fly rod.
