More mullet in whitehaven

up at 4 this morning and had a couple of hours mulleting in whitehaven harbour before work, had 2 mullet both around the 2 1/2lb mark on floating bread, there was a cold wind blowing so took them a lot longer to respond to the bread groundbaiting and floating offerings i was putting in.
Am definitely getting the fly rod out, have found some nice tight knit foam at work which when pulled off makes a very good bread flake imitation, its gotta be worth a go as these fish love taking bread off the top.

Re: More mullet in whitehaven

I saw some big mullet in the Queens Dock a couple of years ago and thought they must be in the marina too so interesting to hear someone is out catching them. I take it there are no rules forbiding fishing in the marina? It looks like there is no acess to the pontoons but I guess you fish off the dock wall? Do you have to use a drop net to land the fish, I know there are ladders and steps on the Old Quay. I may get chance to have a go one of these days.

Tight lines
