cowie is on a distinguished road
1st outing of the year

Hi all, just had my first mullet outing of the year, went fishing at the marina at whitehaven in cumbria first thing this morning. When I arrived there were mullet showing all over in both sides of the marina, swirling, chasing each other and cruising around,i started throwing in pieces of bread about half inch square in a few different areas, after about 10-15 minutes of ignoring the bread, mullet started coming to the surface and sucking pieces down,I set up with a small float to 6lb hook line around 20" from the float and pinched a piece of bread to the hook, tossing it out around 10yds I waited. After 3 or 4 missed takes, seeing the fish suck the bread in but not letting it turn with it,a fish sucked in my bread, after a nice 5 minute fight I landed a nice fish of 4-4 and half pounds, alas then was time to go to work, might have to call back later today though

ps apologies for quality of pic, forgot camera so had to do with mobile
