Anyone tried for the mullet yet?

Having had a good scout around the West of Cornwall, I have spotted mullet in Nelyn, Penzance and Hayle harbours with some real belters swimming along with the shoals. I would say that nearly all of them are pre occupied on the brown weed/algae covering rocks and are very difficult to tempt as yet.

Has anyone had a go for them yet?

I have heard reports of a mullet over 7lb being caught on the river Medway already!!!

I will be dusting of the rods very soon and having a go for them. If anyone has had some early success please let us know.

Good luck all for the coming summer.

Re: Anyone tried for the mullet yet?

We've caught Golden Grey Mullet in West Sussex in the last week or so using red rag for bait. Are currently big shoals of them inshore. Have been a few thin lipped mullet caught up the river at Newhaven to about 3lb.
