lol well so many of them around i bet i will catch some.
also on the note of pout if your fishing where there is some pout around catch some with a handline and small hooks and put one out on a float live. i was doing that last night and catching macky that werent much bigger than the pout!!! so they must be good bait if the small macky will take them and you never know if a big bass or bigger macky maybe lurkin

oh yes the macky like pout i found that out on the pier the other night.
in the past i have also caught big wrasse on pout aswel and i went to ask a friend in the aquarium to find out why the wrasse was feeding on pout rather than worm or crab or something.
and he told me that once they reach 4lb+ they have to eat more than just the odd worm and crab to survive so they take small fish

my mates had them on live sandeel aswel

i never get any luck with wrasse apart from small ones

A couple of years ago I bagged a 4.5lb Wrasse on a "sliver" plug - The Wrasse had virtually swallowed the whole plug!
