Re: france 2008

I still fancy doing this, possibly in September 2008, I know a few others who still want to go, so pm me if you are interested and I will see if we can get enough together to resurrect this meeting. We will have a bit more time to get deposits together etc.

Mike

Re: france 2008

I don't want to hi-jack your thoughts but feel that you may like to know that we will be draining Moorlands in November 2007 in order to remove all roach, rudd etc and to check the current biomass. We will then be able to remove any of the existing fish which have suffered mouth damage and have already placed an order for a small number of large carp as additional targets. 2008 should be our best year ever but if any of you want regular updates please click on the "contact us" button on our web site and we will email newsletters which detail how the lake is fishing and what work we are carrying out. Thank you.

Re: france 2008

Hi I.K.
I thought that this thread was dead and buried but as you were kind enough to show some interest I can now bring you up to date. I have literally just (yesterday) finished the drain down and I am pleased to say that we have removed everything except for carp, catfish, perch and bass. We checked and weighed all of the cats and carp and have ended with (in 15 acres) 286 fish with 101 of them over 30.00 lb. We have carp to mid fifties and cats to well over 100 lb. From our detailed records we can be absolutely certain that next year (2008) will produce at least 41 different fish over 40.00 lb and that is without the norm of an unexpected growth rate occurring.
Hope that is of interest.
