Re: first car

Looks Great Ben!!!
They've just started selling Minis overhere w/ the new redesign. I pass a pair of them in one driveway everyday. Theres also a REALLY Nice old LandRover a couple blocks away. I see it on the sunny days.
Whats the deal w/the plate #'s? You all seem to remember them... Do your cars get one # their entire service life?

ps. Thanx Pingu... Thats my baby (except the pix shows a 'sport fury'. It had hidden/retractable headlights, diff hub caps, & a LOT bigger engine. My 318ci is DINKY for 1970. Tho its the biggest/still available today) There are 3 in the Omaha area, that I've seen. One red, one white near Gretna, and mine is blue. They are the only 2 I've ever seen like it.
pps. $3000 its yours, its such a boat you could prob. drive it home. LOL

If it's just the back-box you'll be OK, but let them know anyway. If it has got a 2 into 1 instead of the standard cast exhaust manifold then they'll not allow it. As you've noticed, the brakes are very 70's. Not a lot you can do except keep a good distance and maintain 'em to the hilt.

Have fun! There's something about the handling of a Mini that just puts a permanent grin on your face. Wife's driven one all her life, chucks them around, typical Mini driver. Scares the pants off me when she gets in my Subaru and treats it the same way

Steve

Re: first car

Although I'm in Canada my first car was British made.
A 1972 Ford Cortina. Dark green with a 2 litre motor. Not too bad for a 17 year old high school guy with a part-time job. Cost me $800 in 1977.
