Re: live off the land your very lucky cod, we have rabbit and wood pidgeon here, bought a .22 air rifle with telescopic sights, legal snares, to do exactly what you suggest, no land owners or council will allow me to do either, they say, they are and have been investing in enviromental pursuits, and everything is banned. legally you can walk to a pond etc, catch and take a canadian goose, as they are classified as vermin, try it here and you would get lynched by the public. ill advised as they are, such nice birds shouldn't be abducted for the pot. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: live off the land Its great people are so lazy in England. Leaves more for us!! I do my own jams, wines, beers. Pick mushrooms. Always thought about trying to catch squirrels but not sure how to go about it. I believe it is allowed to catch greys as they are killing off the reds. Anyone know about this?

Re: live off the land Yes greys are classed as vermin If you going to catch them either a rifle or catty as they do freeze for a moment thats a good time to take your shot
