Car insurance prices...

... are extremely high.

I have just rec'd some quote from different websites. Cheapest one means 65% increase for me. When I have done a search on google, there are news about the 30% average increase.

I dont know why mine has increased too much.

Did anyone else noticed the increase?

try Green? found them on the internet, saved me over £300 this year and when i changed cars a couple of weeks ago still got a fantastic deal and no extras added for changing any details, worth a try (i dont have any no claims either as always driven on company insurance til this year

No luck. My postcode is around 1400 of 1700 which is on the worse part of UK postcodes. Perhaps I should give up driving.

I went from tesco to budget insurance and mine nearly halved in price. I didnt think it would go up unless you lose your no claims or change car/ circumstances

No change on my circumstances. I did not claim anything either. But I know my neighbour has claimed something which was at no fault. My neighbours are on same maisonette. I wonder if this would take big part on the major increase.

I would of though it would be based on an individual basis, cant understand it to be honest

I think whole system is sh*t.


My car is W reg rover45 which is around 450.00 GBP. There is only 120.00 difference between the rover45 insurance and 08 reg Kia Ceed (worth 8000.00 GBP) insurance.

I can not understand.

I was looking at insuring my old toyota as we had to buy another one while I fixed the "erratic" problem. To insure an R Reg , 1.8 Avensis was coming out in the 700+ area . Unfortunately, as a second car, I have no no clamis I can use.

It is mad, insurance companies have been loosing money on the investments they make with your premiums is my guess.

My insurance came down because I shopped around and did not accept the first offer I was quoted by anybody. Because my car is slightly modified I have to declare the changes and this means I know exactly what is being proposed by the insurer.
