Re: 1000 th post, some thoughts.

There are some really good anglers on here too and what makes them special is that they are willing to share what they know.

Congrats, and very well said too. I have learned a lot on this forum, and made some friends at the same time. Do you get a telegram from John Wilson for your 1000th post?

A telegram would be great and can you just imagine if people like John Wilson, Matt Hayes, MIck Brown, Bob Nudd , Tom Pickering et al actually did post on this forum? Wow that would be amazing.

Probably the greatest leap forward in coarse fishing for roach came when I read "Float fishing " by the now sadly deceased genius that was Ivan Marks (ONLY JPR Williams is a slightly higher sporting hero in my eyes and it's a bloody closely run thing). I went from catching 1 or maybe 2 roach in a whole day to 29 the day after I read that book. I could not put it down. Look on ebay if you want to see what impact that book obviously made because you can't get a copy for less than £50 (unless the price has dropped lately).

All of the above are people I just love to watch or read about because each of them has a great attitude to angling and fishing in general.

So, John et al, come on post hear. You can even use an alias if you want :)

Re: 1000 th post, some thoughts.

How could I? I'd love to name them all but you have to draw the line somewhere, I did draw it a little too soon though I agree.
Can't forget Bernard Cribbins either, I could listen to him talk all day . He is amazing on Catchin the Impossible. National treasure he is, for sure.

Re: 1000 th post, some thoughts.

I am looking forward to Catch the Impossible on Channel 4, starting this Sunday. Already have the Virgin + box set to record, just in case I sleep in and miss it
