May not appeal - Skoda in-car video

Fishing has been on the sideline since I took my car to the Nurburgring in September and promptly blew it up on my 2nd lap [D'OH!]

So have spent most of the winter driving a black MX5, and spending weekends / spare time researching into better engine parts and working on the Skoda.... Now finally 6 months later it is back on the road and menacing Exmouth and surrounding Devon area.

Car still needs some work but I couldn't help go out and get some in-car video of the current performance. Off the public highway of course

Once done I am aiming to have a car which will have over 300bhp on tap, making it a bit of a Q-car (being a 5 door Skoda hatchback...) but still get 55mpg on a gentle run.

Enjoy.

Time to get out the tackle again for some Summer fishing!

Ah, that's the training video for Eastern Europeans when the water bailiffs ask them what they are doing with a bucket of carp/pike.

Alledgedly

BTW, I love my Skoda Fabia diesel. Performance beats the hell out of the VW Polo company car I had last

Re: May not appeal - Skoda in-car video

Hi Jason,

Help please.

My 2006 Octavia is letting water into the wheel well, boot is dry but wheel well fills up with water sitting on the drive.

I have sat watching it but cannot find where it is letting the water in.

Any suggestions please.

Regards

Drew

Hi Drew
I had a similar thing with my rover hatchback - leaked all over the place.
I took all the carpet & wheel out of the boot so was left with just the metal, cleaned all the dirt out so it was spotless, waited till it had been raining for a few hours then checked - there were some very small water trails - just a run of a drip - was not easy to spot them, traced them back to the rear light cluster & the rubber seal round the hatchback door.
Silicon sealant liberally applied did the job

It's not washer bottle fluid is it? I am aware often in cold weather, a pipe join in the side of the boot that pipes washer fluid to the rear screen comes apart, and then then washer fluid spills into the spare wheel well from the side, under the boot floor usually.

Is the rear screen wash working ok?

I know this sounds like an unnecessary repair job, but I would consider drilling a couple of holes in the bottom of the wheel well to allow the water to drain out. :)
