Bumblebee Vote needed

A friend at work asked me to vote on the following and i think it is a good cause, I was wondering if people on the forum could vote for the bumblebee please.

Good morning,

The Shrill Cadre Bumble Bee needs your help, unlike most appeals this will cost you nothing more than a little of your time.

The Story So Far.

I recently conducted a study into public access at Castlemartin Range and, as a consequence, the MoD is going to create a path (the Castlemartin Range Path (CRP)) around the perimeter of the ranges. This path will be open to the public all year round irrespective of military activity on the range and will help the Countryside Commission for Wales (CCW) achieve its goal of creating a “Round Wales Coastal Path”. The CRP, which will be open to walkers, cyclists and horse riders, has the backing of CCW, the Pembrokshire Coast National Park (PCNP), the British Horse Society (BHS), Ramblers and local conservation groups; it will open this summer.

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BCT) has visited Castlemartin Range and is keen to capitalise on this initiative by creating wildflower meadows alongside the CRP and linking related habitats in order to help conserve a UKBAP species (the Shrill Carder Bee). In order to do this they need to obtain funding from the EU by winning a conservation/access competition that is being run jointly by the Association for Conservation and Live for the Outdoors. The competition is being run electronically using the “Trail” and “Country Walking” Magazines website. Six projects have been entered into the competition from across the UK. CCW, PCNPA and the BCT have joined forces to enter the only Wales based project. The BCT needs your votes if they are to have any chance of winning the 30,000 Euro prize which they will use to fund the project. For further information and to cast your vote please visit the following website www.livefortheoutdoors.com and click on the 'Most worthy eco-project' link, it is very easy and takes less time than you have spent reading this mail.

Thumbs up Re: Bumblebee Vote needed

Done mate. I was in Pembrokeshire last summer & walked some of the coast path. Could'nt believe the amount & diversity of insect & plantlife. I'd not seen so many butterflies in one place since the early 1960s & you could still hear the drone of bees, something which sems to be missing in Wiltshire these days.
