| computer help plz, wireless. ok being fed up with fighting ash for the pc i've just got him a laptop. am i right in thinking that at least 1 machine has to be wired via ethernet cable etc as a host or could both be wireless? __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.     |

| Re: computer help plz, wireless. It all depends on how you have the modem set up. Some modems work as the main router, so you dont have to have a dedicated PC to act as the host server. This is the prefered set up. Many older modems rely on using a PC as the host to provide IP addresses for other computers on the network. If you have one of the older type USB modems then ask your internet provider for a wireless router modem.
