Re: fishing reels

Hi mate

without knowing wht ground you fish over or your level of casting with a fixed spool it can be a tad hard.

1stly don't be afraid of getting to grips with a multiplier, Check out you tube for over head thumps....before trying any other styles.
Get a spool of cheap line and leader and get down a field or coast for an afternoon and you'll crack it by the end of a couple of hours.

for simplicity i would go for an abu c3 ct mag elite...the green one. one of the most user friendly reels i have ever used.

if the ground is rougher i'd go for a sl20sh...affectionatley known as a slosh...

linked in with the not being afraid of a multiplier, get one without a level wind, in your afternoon casting you'll also learn how to lay the line on the spool as it has to be done manually...probably a you tube vid of that too somewhere in the internet etha.

Another idea is to get along to a local casting day, have a lesson or two, join the local club....you'll get all the details from your local fishing tackle shop.

good luck

john
