| Re: Getting Back into it??? I am just restarting this thread. B/c I have my own questions. Does anyone do kayak fishing with inflatable kayak? Are there any time scale accordingly to the tide, to get in the sea? Tides are strong. So would not kayak get drifted to the open sea? What is the maximum wind, so you can still do fishing in the chopy (is that how you say it?) sea? Also any other advise you can provide. |

No - use a 'normal sea kayak Fish at any time - obviously the stronger the tides & current the harder it is to paddle against so work out your paddle plan using the currents to assist you - watch out for tidal flow - it is a lot stronger than you realise ! With regards to an inflatable - because it sits on top of the water - it will suffer badly from wind ( ! ) A proper sea kayak has a draught and skeg to keep the yak on a 'straight course and can cut through the swell etc ... Sea state - F4/5 is the most I will venture out in but some Yakkers go out in stronger - watch tide against wind as the wind might be quite light but against the tide will cause some large choppy seas ... IMHO - inflatables are for soft flat seas in the summer ... Rob __________________ SUPPORT THE RNLI - click : www.rnli.org.uk ... every little helps !
