Never buy a fishing Kayak

Hello all ,been away for a while and going away for 7 months on tuesday hence the lack of posts from me nowadays.
Just thought i d tell you all never to buy a Fishing kayak if you want to carry on beach fishing .
When i first got mine people told me i wouldnt do any more beach fishing and i thought they were talking rubbish but its happened.
Ive not used my beach rods since buying it and dont think i now will.

The other day i paddled out along the blocks at southsea and had 4 good Bass all on surface popper in about 1-2 hours.
I took the fish on really light spinning gear and it was unbelievable fun watching the bass hammer the lures and then playing them.
When i paddled back in there was a bloke belting worms off the beach catching huge amounts of weed and nothing else
Lastnight i threw the Yak on my roofrack and went out into the harbour armed with very light gear and ragworm,i had 8 Bass the biggest going 3 1/2lb.
The great thing about Kayak fishing is that it alows you to use very light gear and fish places even boats can not get into ,i ll be out again tomorrow and i m even thinkin about flogging some of my ZZippys as i need a good GPS to avoid those Ferries
Any offers?

Re: Never buy a fishing Kayak

Sorry Gully - think the zippys would be too good for me...
Think you ought to consider a motor to get out of the way of the ferrys though; a GPS will only tell you that you are in the way.
Take care on your trip - am sure we are all wishing you & your colleagues the best.

Best of Luck John... Stay safe mate. (Oh, and it's always the blue wire in the movies mate!)

Might have a chat with ya about the Zippys when you get back (If you still feel the same!)
