| Novice in need of help! Hello all, I'm gary and have recently moved to glenarm for a while. I'm a complete novice at this game and apart from doggies i'm having little success. Have been using all the usual baits and have read magazines until my head hurts but very little seems to happen. Anyone care to throw me a few hints etc.     |

| Re: Novice in need of help! Hi, and welcome to the forum! Unfortunatly i dont even know where Glenarm is!!! If you could be a little more descript with surroundings ie: shoreline, bait, tackle, etc. Someone should be able to help! Hope to hear from you soon! |

Hey fella someone on here will be able to help, have you thought about going down to the local marks and having a chat with a few of the local lads, i'm sure they will not give away there secrets but i'm sure they'll help you along. Or maybe the local tackle shop will be able to give you some advice. Welcome to the forum anyway  |

| Re: Novice in need of help! Cheers lads, Good to hear from you. The shore around here is a mixture of sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. Took the advice and had a chat with a few lads last night. Seems to be good for flatfish on the sand and they reckon the rocks are good for pollack at dusk. Plan to give it a go at the weekend, i'll stick the results (good or bad) on here. |

| Re: Novice in need of help! Gary again. Caught a small pollack last night. At least i think it was, too dark to see properly and headlamp had given up. Might have been a coalfish, frankly i didnt care. No joy with the flatfish but had a lot of fun. Hope your all enjoying yourselves. |
