Giant Bluefin Tuna - Part 3

Hi guys,

It looks like the planned Forum trip to the outer limits of Ireland is on. I have just received an e-mail from the skipper that the winds are forecast from the south....which is good for where we will be fishing.

The skipper has also informed me that he will be trying a new method as plastic lures are just not working this year. It maybe because of the abundance of bait fish around.

So we will be using Mackeral.

It should turn out to be a very interesting trip

The last time the skipper did this he landed two of over 500lbs!!

So Tommy A, Tommy A senior, John Marshall and Old Smoothound are going mackeral dunking for Giant Bluefins and maybe a couple of other species for the hunt .....hehe and of course it would be very rude not to sample the local brew.....

Wish us luck and we will no doubt post a report and pictures and negotiate book publishing rights with forum admin.

Cheers all

Hi Guys,

All packed ready to go...just phoned the skipper and we are defo a "GO" for Giant Bluefins"

He was in amongst them today and they were "bustin" all around the boat 2 metres away from the lures...but no strike, so it will defo be mackeral as bait....

Off to beddy byes now...early start in the morning...

See you all when we get back and post a report.
