Cool Giant Blue Fin Tuna - Part Deux

Hi Folks,

It's that time of year that the old bearded burbler starts to think BIG and I mean BIG….The Giant BlueFin Tuna are a calling.

Me and my old Pal are back out to Ireland to see if we can hook one this time and keep it on!!

Average weight of these beauties is 450lbs with 5-600lbers being hooked as well.
Baits for the day will be……15 x 12" plastic squid on a 5 foot steel squid bar trolled behind the boat. Tackle will be 130lb class rods 400lb mono 12/0 circle Tuna hooks. Oh and not forgetting the fighting chair.

Even if we don't hook one I can't wait to see them "Busting" over the tops of the waves….with Gannets diving into the bait ball, a truly awesome sight.

It's a taste of things to come when me, John M, Tommy A and Tommy A Snr go back out again in October for some more Tuna.

My flight is on Friday and I just can't wait.
