| East Coast 30th June This was another saltwater adventure of mine to try and collect some points! it didnt go too well on the points side but i did fill up on pike bait and also got a few dinners out of the trip. Started fishing off the protection at rising tide and i started to catch small pollock before fishing for mackerel at high tide. The pollock came to float fished rag at a depth of about 20ft, the water was around 40ft deep but the bottom fishing wasnt really possible due to the masses of weed! ![]() ![]() At high tide the mackerel never appeared which was strange so we reverted our feather tactics and opted for float fishing rag again. Even the pollock seemed to have moved and when we looked at the harbour wall realised why... there must have been 7 seals just bobbing up and down looking at us ![]() Luckily for us a well known local offered to take us out on his boat for an hour while there was still light. This allowed us to catch all the mackerel we needed! so we lowered down our feathers when we got to the mark and that was that! fish after fish after fish! We ended with near 40 fish with one i landed just scraping 2lbs in weight. ![]() ![]() 2lbs ![]() Perfect Pike Bait! The sun went down and that was that, but it was an enjoyable trip and another 1.5 points! ![]() Cheers, JC __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release! |

| Re: East Coast 30th June Cheers for the replies guys. I always find the joeys are better in comparision to the more mature mackerel aswell MT, maybe it's alot of nonsense, but who knows? JC __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release! |
