Provence.

Took a holiday in Provence this year and stayed in Vaison la Romain not too far from Avignon. Nice place but the really interesting bit was the river D'Oveze running through the town holding a good head of Barbel and Roach. These could clearly be seen off the town bridge in the crystal clear water.

Didnt see anyone fishing though but I'll bear it in mind as we're going back that way soon.

For info. the D'Oveze is a tributary of The Rhone. My goodness, The Rhone is a BIG BIG river near Avignon ! Twice the width of the Thames. (at Westminster Bridge)

Next year, Pontivy in Brittany !
