My 13 day Thai fishing adventure (day three)

First of all i know its not ideal but i have managed to put some of the photos (44 to be exact) of my holiday on my album ,i know its not ideal but i have tried to use photo bucket and have got them all on there but i just do not seem to be able to transfer them on to my reports (sorry guys) but until my son can find the time to help the old man out it is the best i can do.
Also i am a one finger typist and each of these reports takes me 2-3 hours so please be patient i try to write one a day
Any way back to the fishing,Jules of siamfishingtours picks me up at 7.15 i think i might of had one too many chang beers last night as i seem to have trouble walking in some sort of straight line,.It really is quite cool today and also quite windy, and considering the state of me i think it was a blessing
As always Dave is perched at the edge of the lake like a garden gnome trying to catch me some bait but the wind is up and its quite obvious that the fishing is going to be quite a challenge,After coffee Gin rows my bait out 100yrds down the channel but due to the wind we cant even see the float so will be relying on the baitrunner for any takes, the second is cast out tight to the reeds again on the far bank but as the braid floats its not long before my bait is in mid water, and as the bait really needs to be as tight to the reeds on the far bank this was a problem all day,After 90 mins i had a take on the reed rod and after 10 mins landed a red tail of 12lbs a hour or so later the line started to peel off the rod down the channel i tightened down and struck arapaima asked Dave i don't think so but it was giving a good account of itself but it wasn't heading for the snags and had me some what puzzled another 10 min or so and i had what they call a Ba Duk of 10lbs,its a sort of Thai catfish a dogged little blighter that had given me really strong runs for its size,i am not sure how big they grow but i am sure a 30lb fish would give any seasoned angler a run for your money,
The wind was still strong and fishing was not getting any easier,i then got into a couple of either pacu or alligator gar which promptly bit straight through my trace and then hooked and landed a Thai red tail of 4lbs,as the evening drew in it seemed not even the red tails were feeding, usually the last hour before dark they became a bit of a pest and it became very hard to get through them trying to tempt a arapaima to take my bait before they took it,I did have one red tail 11lbs just before we called it a day,but due to the conditions it was to be my least productive day of my holiday
Jules suggested that tomorrow we have one last shot for a arapaima at a different venue Cha Am fishing park where the owner had recently opened up what used to be his own private lake which backs on to another lake which he owns which is stocked with big carp, sawai catfish, red tails, mekong catfish and some chao paraya,So there is no use having a guide and not listening to him after all that's what he gets paid for so i said my goodbyes to Dave and Gin and it was time to move on
Back to the hotel for not quite as many changs as the previous night and to be honest left wondering if i had blown my chance of my trophy shot
P.S i hope you guys are enjoying my reports, please let me know or am i just a simple man wasting every ones time

Simple

nice read m8, & congratulations on some decent fish

below is a link ( ignore trial) to a thread where, amongst the rambleing, are some instructions for adding images from photobucket,
'baggies' method useing the add image button should work from the site gallery as well i think,

ignore trial

just took a look & the img code is under the url on the site gallerys now
so its just highlite, copy & paste.

all the best gj
