Re: Turkey Belek any ideas folks?

Grey mullet, bass and bream are common fishes around Mediterranean. I do not have so much info about Belek. But when you are in Belek easily contact local organiser for fishing. However fishing is much more amateur in Turkey.

Re: Turkey Belek any ideas folks?

Well I guess that you can't get much better info than a person from Turkey, many thanks.
For the gear I'll be taking (still need a telescopic or travel rod anyone got a recommendation?) these are exactly the kind of fish I'd look to catch.

How do the locals catch them?

Re: Turkey Belek any ideas folks?

Beach casting is not common in the south of Turkey. People has mostly something like travel rod. When you hire boat, they would have the gear too.

We use different type of baits. ie. mamun or teke (I dont know the English names)

MAMUN

TEKE

When you are there, you will get plenty help and advise.

Enjoy.

Re: Turkey Belek any ideas folks?

TEKE are called SHRIMP or PRAWNS here.

The others , one is a crab. The others look like Longustine or Lobsters of some description. Thanks again Turkish.
