Norway - by kayak?

Looking for expressions of interest...

I'll be going to Norway this summer - time is flexible at the moment, though would probaly be looking around June time.

Ideally I'd like to do most the fishing (saltwater) from a yak, though would need to get a group of people together to achieve that. So anyone who is keen or can offer some advice on yak fishing Norway give us a shout please.

Alternatively, if the yaks are not feasible, I'd take my land based gear and do some land based fishing and try and get a few charters in - I don't have a big budget so would be looking at keeping costs down and would therefore be keen to hear from people interested in the non yak option as well - most places seem to operate on a price for a group of 4-6 people with boat included....

Cheers

Matt

Good luck mate. I've done a fair it of fishing in Norway and can't see any reasons why you won't be able to yak fish.
I would though try and book at least one charter trip that will put you in the right spot on the fish.
I've found in my time out there that just because it's Norway your not guaranteed fish.

Re: Norway - by kayak?

Thanks Gullyworm - Are there plenty of charters available - when I searched on the web I could only find info on package deals with accom and boat all together - great if theres a group of anglers but not so good if travelling solo...

Cheers

Re: Norway - by kayak?

Hei,
June is a very good time to come to Norway (my opinion).
I do not have any knowledge off yak fishing, but i see some kayaks now and then in the fjords.
I guess the fjord area (from Stavanger up to Trondheim) are very good for fishing (not guaranteed) and for kayaking.

Also very nice are the islands of the Lofoten more up north, very ideal for fishing as well.

Good luck,
Fred
