Jigging Experiences Hi there! I'm home! A litle estomag seek, to much boilabaisse! Lol The weather, also does not help! And I remenbered some Jigging I did in last Outuber and November, and I want to show you the nice fishes I caught! We can Jig all over the year, but the better time is between somewhere in April till the end of the year, maybe I say this because this is the time when I'd the best results, also the time where the weather let you go often to fish! See the photos: ![]() These four fishes between de 1,5 and 3,300 kgs, where catched between 3.00 and 5.00 o'clock in the afternoon, using 0,27 braid with a point of 15 meters of 0,40 nylon, with the following Jigs: ![]() The one in the left side is an and maid jig, wich a friend a mine gave me, wich caugth the Bass and the litlear Seabream. The one in the right side is a knife from SERT, wich caught the two beagger Seabreams. The assist hooks where fixed by me with sailling boat braid 2mm large. The technic used was vertical Jigging in a bottom between the 28 and the 46 meters deep! OK! I hope you enjoy and ask or suggest about Best regards ![]() __________________ The better day of fishing, is that one witch ends grilling and eating the fish we caught, souronded by friends, family and good wine or beer! http://www.aminhapesca.blogspot.com

Re: Jigging Experiences Some lovely fish there, well done ![]() .....I have a couple of questions.A) did the fish take the jigs front on or from the back? B) on which hook did you hook the fish, the shorter one or the longer one? __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving

Re: Jigging Experiences Hi there! Thank you all for the comments and questions! Ansering Twiddler: The booth questions they are relationed, and, to be correct, I,ll have to supose more than to be afirmativ about it! Lets see! This Jigs work diferently when we put them in movement! The left side one, it works like a "almost dead" fish when it drops down and it balances like african dancing when we pull up! The blue one, works only when it drops down, going like a fish alive "wich loose direction"! Soo we let it go to the deep, we pull it over 1 or 2 metres and, with the rod, we'll pull it up diferent ways and let it drop, normaly we feel we have fish when the line stops, not going down, and we strike! ![]() Soo, the grey one, we can work it near the deep and catch those fish wich are in the bottom like the seabream you see down! ![]() Or pull up changing speed and catch also those other fishes wich can be upper in the water colunm! These last oey caugth the bass, like you can see in the next photo! ![]() This all talk, trying to tell you that, normaly we feel "they" atack the head, but if "they" came after something wich is running in front of them, it's aceptable that "they" do it by the back! Anyway, there are another thing we have to think about! When you are moving the Jigs, the hooks, considering the hydrodinamics, will not be stopped, they will be around the body and the head of the Jig! Soo, normaly the hook more efectiv, use to be the longer one, what did not hapened with the Sea Bream in the next photo ![]() Conclusions: Considering the photos (Those are pictures taked in the same day, I was alone) and all we had talk about, I think the atacks are normaly direct to the head, except, when the fish is running. The most of the times the fishes came in the longer hook and, sometimes in the booth. I think will be safe enought to mount only one hook on Jigs until 150 grs, wich are not too long! In heavy or longer Jigs, will be more safe the two hooks! Another thing is, if we trying fish with sharper teeth, we'll have to cover the braid with thermoelectrical tubes, or we'll loose it for shore! ![]() Hope that I had explain myself enought! Anyway you can ask more any time you want! Best regards! ![]() Ernesto __________________ The better day of fishing, is that one witch ends grilling and eating the fish we caught, souronded by friends, family and good wine or beer! http://www.aminhapesca.blogspot.com
