Anyone know what fish this is?

Caught on single maggot in a small river:

It had spikes on it's gills, but wasn't a ruffe, perch, gudgeon or stickleback. I've never seen anything like it before

lol, looks abit like a gurnard but now doesnt it, how big was it
i guess quite small judging by the pic

when i first looked i thought it was a small dragonet mixed with a blenny or something like that.

Been told it's possibly a Bullhead. Anyone ever seen one before?

Ive seen bullheads from the sea but they dont look like that
