Question Been snorkeling!

Thought I'd look at the fish before catching them!!! But I saw a fish I couldn't identify.

Found (in this case) in 3-4ft water sandy sea bed off Cornish beach
6 inches long
Bottom hugging
Brownish/speckled in colour but with stunning blue "wings" (pelvic fins?) displayed in defence???

Any ideas

David

Re: Been snorkeling!

Done more of a Google search it seems that flying gurnard is the fish. Forgot to mention it had "legs" and seemed to walk on the sand!

Doesnt seem to be a "local" fish suppose must be lost or an effect of global warming
