ive found a fish!!

hi i was taking my dog for a walk on scarborough beach and came across a fish i dont have a clue what it is can anyone help?

Looks like a rays bream lots usually found washed up on east coast unfortunately you have covered the tail. Welcome to the forum

i think its a rays bream,,there has been a few washed up on sea burn beach lately as well,,cheers m8 parrot.........

Personally I don't know why this is but every year it seems that a few get washed up on the east coast.

There was a similar posting on a another website apparently there a warm water fish that travels up on the gulf stream and somehow gets of course and ends in water that is to cold for it and unfortunally dies because of it. Not completely sure but it was something like that.

it could be because of the mass oil spill in lousiana u.s.a and it has finally reached our beaches
