newbie here,what fish is this?

just started fishing and loving it already wish i started a lot sooner,caught one today after a hour and a half down my local river but not sure what it is ? can someone help, not very good at Identifying fish yet but it will come cannot wait to go fishing again thanx dave. http://s802.photobucket.com/albums/y...8062009119.jpg

nice fish , if you dont have a mat to rest the fish on , instead of the stones etc , use a strong carrier bag , ideal for weighing small size fish in , gives them plenty of protection as well , keep a few in your tackle box

very nice chub. they have been stocked in one of my local fisheries but are nowere near that size yet (averaging around a pound or 2. great first catch m8. lets hope it wasnt just beginners luck

as above, or leave in the landing net resting on grass, this protects the fish from damage
