What type of fish

Hi guys there is a river were I'm working which has lots of trout like fish in? But I saw a monster one which I think may be something else! They all face upstream and feed of bread from the top. The big one looks almost like a carp (scaleswise) bit has a red thin at the bottom!

Any ideas?

Re: What type of fish

Could they possibly have been mullet? They are smoked in colour and sometimes head into rivers.
