ice tickling houmour

i hope this story tickle you as much as it did me
a few years ago now my brother moved to canada to live and work and in the summer when he had time he would go carp fishing on the st lawrence any way in the winter it would freeze up and he could not go any way he started to get to know the locals and after a while he was invited to do a spot of ice hole fishing from one of the many shacks that get erected on the st lawrence by one or two of the locals my brother eagerly agreed and soon the day arrived and my brother was eager to get to know more about the ice fishing and as he enter the shack i bet he wished he had not agreed because on entry to the shack he could see varios holes dotted around with these little 2ft rod perched over them and the locals standing around a heater at this point my brother was feeling about as big as them rods as the locals clocked in his hand his 12ft 2/3lb test carp rod and their laughter could no longer be contained and could be heard for mile at least my brother saw the funny side and took all the micky taking on the chin and a good time was had by all and i was in histerics when he told me and i also took the micky (i bet he wished he,d kept that quiet )

tight lines

Re: ice tickling houmour

I've seen others make that mistake too. Even once saw someone trying to ice fish through a hole with a 6' rod.

I'm glad your brother could take it good humor.

Re: ice tickling houmour

Theres a guy, ice fishing at a new lake and just can't pull in a weed to save himself.
No more than 10 yards away, is another guy that just keeps dragging them in one after the other.
The first guy tries moving, a little closer each time and drilling new holes. He makes a spiral around the second guy...still nothing!!!!
Finally he calls out to the other guy, "Hey friend, we've both been out here for hours, and I can't catch a cold. Whats your secret?"
Fisher no.2 answers, "Mee murrr aaa morrm."
Fisher no.1 says, "Sorry I didn't hear that."
Fisher no.2 repeats, "Meee muurrr aaaa mmoorrrm."
Fisher no.1 "I'm so sorry, I still didn't catch that."
Fisher no.2 Spits something into his hand....."KEEP YOUR BAIT WARM!!!!"
