| Re: Ice Angling Bass - I need information Hi angler_pr0 I'm afraid I won't be much help for NE. And I'm sure you know this but, this is an English forum. I kinda doubt our M8s'll be much help either. BUT, I have caught bass thru the ice, it was only luck of the draw, we were using ham on plain hooks w/split shot....nothing fancy at all. The best advice I can give is: Whever you find bass in the summer: ridges, points, weed lines & drop-offs, make a note of them, (or mark them on your gps) and try them in the winter. I imagine (DEEP) drop-offs will be your best bet!!!!! Untill the thermokline flips the lake. Good luck ps. there's a Canuk on here called Woodsman, look for him, he might have some ideas. He's all over the Ice fishing section, you shouldn't have a prob finding him. __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: Ice Angling Bass - I need information In the area's I fish bass are out of season during icefishing. Some are incidentally caught but not many usually while fishing live bait. You may find this US site helpful. http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php Best Wishes: Rick __________________ Living proof that "Beer builds better bellies" Bought & paid for many times over |

| Re: Ice Angling Bass - I need information The most important consideration is finding the areas where the fish are most likely to bite your bait. Some community holes will hold lots of fish, but fishing pressure makes those fish very selective. Take some time to search out other areas away from the fishing pressure: Those fish will be more likely to eat, making them easier to catch. |
