| Homemade Icefishing Gear. I like many other icefishermen like to make some of my own gear. Maybe someone who fishes Norway or Sweden can post theirs. Here is some of the gear I have made. A couple of balance sticks. To indicate a bite the front of the stick either gets pulled down or falls back. ![]() ![]() On this one when a fish hits the arm pulls down releasing the rod to straighten out. ![]() On this one when a fish hits the horizontal arm bounces up & down. It is attached to the vertical post by a spring from a door stopper. ![]() On this one when a fish hits the arm tips down allowing the line which has a small loop in it to slide off a pin on the horizontal stick and free spool down the hole. The elastic now turns the horizontal stick vertical indicating a hit. ![]() And the spud for opening old holes or cutting holes through thinner ice when the auger is not required. ![]() Best Wishes: Rick __________________ Living proof that "Beer builds better bellies" Bought & paid for many times over |
